Mumbai 24 th April 2019: Water is a necessity. As much as is air. The water in our bodies is continually being used or lost from the body. India's groundwater depletion is a national crisis. Past studies of wells in Maharashtra found that a large percent show a decline in groundwater levels. To add to this, the quality of water too is of
concern. We, as citizens of the country, must be made aware of this. We all take water for granted and do
not really pay attention to how much we are consuming and/or wasting.
Though consumption of water is very important, we should not abuse the easy access of water
that we are privileged too. Taking this thought forward, Dr. Naavnidhi K. Wadhwa, Founder and Coach of Rapid Evolution and Mrs. Asia Woman of Universe 2018, wishes to bring about a small change with each act of
kindness. A water drive was organized on the 24 th of April 2019 starting from Goregaon West
and ending up in Malad West.
Dr. Naavnidhi and her team very effortlessly carried out the water drive at signals, at eateries on
the roadside, bus-stops, at areas where municipal workers were doing their jobs to keep the city
clean and safe for all of us. Without much regard to the blistering sunshine, Dr. Naavnidhi
ensured that anyone who passed them by, was not left with a thirst for water. This was not only
restricted to handing out water bottles to the homeless or under privileged. Even commuters in an
autorikshaw or in the comfort of their own air-conditioned cars, happily accepted the water that
was being handed out.
Water can save an individual from falling prey to a lot of health problems. Drinking
water boosts energy and helps Combat fatigue. Water also keep our body cool and cleans toxics
from our body and flushes out unwanted bacteria. By providing water, you won’t be just saving a
life but this shall also save them from a lot of health problems.
Water is one of the most basic requirements for human health and the country has a
responsibility to ensure that everyone has access to it. Due to the drinking water crisis and
unhygienic drinking water, children are 4 times more likely to have water related diseases.
Let us come together and help the thirsty by providing them water. This will surely help
in spreading humanity, love and WATER. Because if NOT now then WHEN? Your
contribution shall truly make a difference. The team shall take an initiative but the mission is
impossible without public support.
